Director Peter Jackson gets West Memphis Three Tattoo

Peter Jackson now has a matching tattoo with a man he helped save from death row.

As many of you know the “West Memphis Three” were 3 men accused of murdering three eight year olds in 1993 and were sentenced to Death Row. In 2007 new DNA tests proved the men were innocent. Sir Peter Jackson and his business partner helped fund a seven-year investigation that eventually led to Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelly being freed from jail in August.

Yesterday, according the The Southland Times, Peter Jackson and Damien Echols walked into White Tiger Tattoo (in Queensland, NZ where Jackson is currently filming The Hobbit) and got “very special” tattoos according to the shop owner, Greg Burt.
